Week 38 (17/09/2007) The Gospel unhindered
One of my favourite books in the Bible is the book of Acts, it describes how Jesus’ disciples, empowered by the spirit, fulfilled the words that Jesus had said “You will do things greater than me.” It’s a tremendous promise; it sets a wonderful sense of expectation.
Can we follow Paul’s example as he ends this wonderful book with this sentence:- ‘Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.’
Does the gospel (the good news) we have been given release us to speak forth with Life and Power and Authority.
If we had an encouraging thought laid on our hearts would we talk ourselves out of sharing it or just share it? If we had a prophetic word to sow, would we sow it or hold on to it? If we had a gift to give would we give it or spend time wondering how it might be received? My cry would be Just do it, share it, give it, speak it, stand for it, go.

My cry would be Just do it, share it, give it, speak it, stand for it, go.
We can so easily be hindered become entangled with doing “the right thing”, not causing offence, being politically correct that we miss the opportunity talk ourselves out of it and end up doing nothing.
Personally all I want to do is to make The Father smile, respond to His prompting. To then stand back and watch the fruit that He enables, the fruit that He promises and the fruit that lasts.
Why not choose from this day forward to get up and start the day saying;
”Father whatever you want me to do today I will do, whatever you want me to say today I will say, wherever you want me to go today I will go and whatever you want me to do today pray today I will pray.
Then do it and see what happens! |
