Abba Father's house (AFH) is a children's home in Jinja, Uganda's second largest town and is the vision of Juliet Najja. It is a Christian charity formed to create a home for disadvantaged children, especially orphans who have lost their parents as a results of AIDS. Living at AFH gives children hope and they learn to develop a positive attitude to the future, by putting their trust in Jesus Christ. Our objective is to give the children spiritual and physical care, to love them and to teach them the love of God.

The home is also developing as a center where widows can receive assistance through training in practical skills, such as tailoring, in order to earn a living. Loving them in this way is a small demostration of God's love for them.

AFH stands on a 2 acre plot. Following the surveying and fencing of the land, the charity was registered in 2005. Our vision manifested into reality in March 2006. This was no mean accomplishment, with the work being managed from the UK. But by faith Juliet Najja, the founder and vision holder, together with her charity partners was able to finance and manage this process.

As of September 2007 we have 14 children living at AFH. Sponsors are being sought for another 16 children.

An important aspect of the work of AFH is the creation of mini-business projects. This provides skills training for the children and widows, reducing their emotional dependance on charity as well as providing an essential income. So far we have a chicken and turkey rearing business, and a mushroom growing business. The children also grow a range of vegetables and saplings which we plan to sell on. The laters project to start is a bread bakery for which the building has started! Fortunately the plot is big enough for all these projects!

We also have space for Phases 2 and 3, whereby we plan to build two more accomodation wings, eventually housing at least 60 more children and staff. We are commited to raising funds for these building projects. Ultimately we shall be able to provide a home, clothe, feed, educate and provide the necessities for children. At the same time as giving them hope for the future, and to learn to believe and trust God for their needs.
