Week 20 (14/05/2007) - How far is it?    

Ever been in a journey with children, maybe a long journey, its not long before they are asking are we there yet?

I wonder whether it was the same for God's people journeying to look for the promised land.  In God the reality is the promised land can be much closer than you think, maybe only a decision away!

What is the promised land?  The Promised Land (Hebrew: הארץ המובטחת, translit.: ha-Aretz ha-Muvtachat) is another name for the Land of Israel. According to the Bible the land was promised by God as an everlasting possession to the descendants of Hebrew patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob:

Its interesting as God was really waiting for them to align themsleves with His purpose, then the Promised land flowing with milk and honey was close.

How far is the land that God has promised us as a Church, well if you asked me as the one who is sitting in the front passenger seat I would suggest its just over the next hill!
