Seeing God at Work Makes a Difference in Our Lives

One of the greatest shifts in the Christian life happens when we begin to see God not only in the pages of Scripture or the walls of a church, but in the everyday happenings of our ordinary lives. It is the moment when faith moves from theory to experience, from something we have heard about to something we have lived. And that awareness, seeing God at work, changes everything.

For many of us, the challenge is not that God is absent, but that life is busy, noisy, and crowded with competing priorities. We rush from task to task, often unaware that the Holy Spirit is quietly weaving grace, guidance, and opportunity into the fabric of our day. When we learn to notice His activity, the same world looks different. A routine commute becomes a conversation with God. A difficult meeting becomes an opportunity for His wisdom. A chance encounter becomes a divine appointment.

Seeing God at work begins with posture. It requires a readiness to recognise His fingerprints. We can be like the disciples on the Emmaus Road who walked alongside Jesus without realising it. They had all the facts, all the teaching, and yet they could not see Him until their eyes were opened. The same is true for us. God is already present; the question is whether we are attentive.

When we do notice Him, several things begin to happen.

First, it builds faith. The more we recognise God’s involvement, the more we trust Him. We begin to see His consistency, how often He provides before we even know what we need. When a timely word comes from a friend, when a solution emerges at just the right moment, or when peace settles in a situation that should feel chaotic, we begin to connect the dots. Faith grows not only from reading about God’s character but from witnessing it in action.

Second, it shapes our decisions. When we understand that God is not distant, our choices become less about anxiety and more about alignment. We ask different questions: not just “What should I do?” but “Lord, what are You doing here, and how can I join You?” This subtle shift changes the way we lead, work, and relate to others. It brings purpose to the mundane and confidence to the uncertain.

Third, seeing God at work transforms how we respond to difficulties. Challenges stop being obstacles and start becoming invitations. Instead of asking, “Why is this happening?” we ask, “What is God forming in me through this?” That does not minimise pain or pretend everything is easy. But it anchors us. We realise that God is present in the valley just as much as on the mountaintop, and that He often does His most profound shaping in the places we would naturally avoid.

Fourth, it deepens gratitude. Gratitude is not simply a polite response to pleasant things; it is the fruit of recognising God’s activity. When we become aware of His hand in our daily rhythms, thankfulness becomes natural. We stop taking moments for granted and start seeing them as gifts. Even small blessings, a quiet morning, an encouraging message, a task completed, become reminders that God is intimately involved in our day.

But perhaps the most remarkable difference is this: seeing God at work realigns our identity. Instead of viewing ourselves as people who must strive, perform, or control outcomes, we begin to understand that we are participants in God’s story. We are not alone, not left to figure things out by ourselves. He is with us, working in us and through us.

So how do we cultivate this awareness?

We slow down. We listen. We invite God into every part of our lives, not just the spiritual ones. We ask Him to open our eyes to what He is already doing. We learn the art of reflection, looking back over a day, a week, or a season and tracing His presence. And we share our God-sightings with others, strengthening the faith of the community around us.

When we see God at work, life becomes richer, more intentional, and more hopeful. We move through the world with expectation, knowing that the living God is not confined to holy places but is active in the very spaces where we live, work, and lead. And that awareness, quiet, steady, transformative, makes all the difference.

 Prophetic word for students -

Our Sunday service starts at 11:00 a.m. and typically lasts about 90 minutes.

We begin each service with lively worship, featuring songs from around the world, followed by inspiring, Bible-based teaching. All our sermons are recorded and are available as a podcast after the service.

We have a monthly cycle of Sunday services, with our Communion Service being on the first Sunday of each month and an All-Age All-Nation Service on the second Sunday of each month. Our other Sunday services include Spirit-focused and teaching services.

We have consciously adopted being a blended church, that is, both online and face-to-face. You are welcome to join us on Livestream or via Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, or X (Twitter), or you can catch up and watch the recordings later.
