Resurrection Purpose

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not merely a truth to be acknowledged; it is the living heartbeat of our souls. Without the resurrection, our faith is hollow, our hopes are empty, and our struggles are in vain. But, oh, Christ has been raised! He is alive with a life that will never end, a life that now calls us into His own glory and joy. As Paul exclaims, "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins" (1 Corinthians 15:17). But He is risen indeed, and everything has changed.

When the stone rolled away, it was not only death that was defeated; it was despair. It was not only Christ who walked free; it was all who would trust in Him. Sin no longer has the final word. Shame no longer holds the pen over our story. Fear no longer sits upon the throne. Because He lives, we live also. Because He has conquered, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Paul says, "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life" (Romans 6:4). Not a patched-up life. Not a half-hearted life. A new life, pulsing with the resurrection power of Jesus Himself.

This life is not something distant, waiting for us at the gates of heaven. It is a present gift, a sacred calling. To belong to Christ is to have His Spirit within us — the very Spirit who raised Him from the grave. "The Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you" (Romans 8:11). Oh, what mercy. What wonder. We are not left to battle our sins alone. We are not left to stumble through life in our own strength. We are carried, empowered, filled, by the life of the Risen One.

This changes everything. The resurrection is not only a historical event; it is the explanation for every small act of faith, every tearful prayer, every costly forgiveness, every unnoticed act of kindness. It is the reason we get up and keep walking when the road is long and hard. It is the reason we hope when the world tells us to despair. Peter sings of it, "In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3). A living hope — not a dry theory, not a dusty creed, but a blazing fire that cannot be quenched.

Yet the way of resurrection life is also the way of the cross. We should not expect ease, for we follow a Crucified King. Paul confesses, "We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body" (2 Corinthians 4:10). Every sorrow borne in faith, every trial endured with our eyes lifted to heaven, bears witness to the world that death is defeated, and Jesus reigns. Our sufferings are not a denial of resurrection power; they are the very stage upon which resurrection life shines most brightly.

So let us lift our eyes. Let us fix our hearts on the empty tomb and the living Lord. Christ is risen, and He is not far off. He is with us in every valley, beside us in every storm, strengthening us with a life that will never end. Let us press on with joy, knowing that every step, every sacrifice, every labour done for His name is not in vain. As Paul so tenderly urges us, "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain" (1 Corinthians 15:58).

The tomb is empty. The King is alive. His Spirit lives within you. Therefore, dear heart, do not lose heart. Christ is risen — and because He is, you have a purpose that no power of hell can ever steal away.

Lets live as resurrection people
