A Call to Engage: Let Love Be Our Witness - Dave Food Pentecost and Assemblies of God - Dave Food
In a world hungry for hope, longing for connection, and searching for truth, the Church is called to shine. Not just through words, but through action. Not just through attendance, but through engagement.

Jesus said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35).  They should know we are Christians—by our love.

That love looks like showing up, serving faithfully, praying deeply, and welcoming others warmly. It means being part of something bigger than ourselves: a community where grace flows, healing begins, and lives are transformed.

Now is the time to step in, to step up, and to be the Church—not just on Sundays, but in every space we occupy.

Whether it’s greeting at the door, helping with children’s ministry, joining a prayer group, supporting outreach, or simply offering a listening ear, your presence matters. Your love makes a difference.

Let’s be known not just by our songs, sermons, or services, but by our love in action.

Choose to join us in this Mission, find a place to plug in, a place to serve, a place to give and a place to pray at RCF.
This Pentecost Sunday, we joyfully celebrate 100 years of the Assemblies of God—a century of Spirit-filled ministry, global mission, and unwavering dedication to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

From humble beginnings to a worldwide fellowship, the AoG has been a movement empowered by the Holy Spirit, rooted in Pentecost, and committed to reaching the lost, discipling believers, and serving communities.

On this historic day, we give thanks for the pioneers who walked in faith, for the generations who have carried the flame, and for the global family of believers continuing the mission today. We reflect on God's faithfulness, celebrate His power still at work, and look ahead with expectation for what He will do in the next century.

Let us honour this moment by lifting our voices in praise, seeking a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and rededicating ourselves to be Christ’s witnesses to the ends of the earth.

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6)

Happy Centennial, Assemblies of God! May Pentecost fire continue to burn brightly in every generation.

Sunday School - Julie Stevenson  Love Egham - Mission with St John's - Dave Food
Even though there may not be children attending church for Sunday school to happen, each week, behind the scenes, I prep for Sunday school online, as I do have a few children who cannot attend weekly and have done this since March 2020.

Last week, we started a new Sunday School resource called " The Biggest Story" Story Book, written by Kevin DeYoung. It has 104 stories covering the Pentateuch to Revelation. It has lovely colourful pictures and easy words to help the children understand God's word in a new way.

Each week we have a story, then do an activity sheet reflecting on the story that we learnt about, including a memory verse to remember to help us.

As a church, we are called not to settle, but to step forward in faith. At the beginning of June 2025, we are doing a joint Love Egham Mission with St John's. All the details can be found on the Love Egham page on the RCF Website.

Ladies Half Day Conference - Leticia Hermoso Admin (Behind the scenes) - Julie Stevenson
On the 10th of May, a gathering of 25 women from around 10 different nationalities came together for a powerful and enriching half-day event titled "A Half Day with Val Byrd." The day was marked by deep fellowship, engaging discussions, and a meaningful time of ministry.

The event featured two thought-provoking sessions centred on the lives of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, offering attendees an opportunity to reflect on biblical teachings and their personal faith journeys. Through Val Byrn's insightful guidance, participants explored themes of service, devotion, and God's transformative power.

Beyond the inspiring discussions, the event was filled with laughter, joy, and connection. A warm atmosphere of fellowship was fostered over delicious food, with fresh pastries for breakfast and a variety of sandwiches for lunch. The shared meals became a space for conversation, bonding, and encouragement among attendees.

The day concluded with a powerful ministry time, where women experienced heartfelt prayer, spiritual renewal, and personal reflection. From start to finish, A Half Day with Val Byrd was a meaningful experience, leaving participants uplifted, inspired, and deeply connected.
As well as being a Sunday School teacher, I also work for the church part-time each week, doing various jobs that most people probably never realise what happens behind the scenes to make church happen each week. As soon as the church service finishes.

Rob the (Treasurer) and myself will go and count the offering, then most Mondays i will be taking this to the bank. I also record who was at church and who was not, and reach out to the ones who were . I also pay all the invoices and do the accounts each month, as well as making sure everything in the refreshment boxes or things needed for church service are there, and if any problems arise, I deal with those too.

I respond to daily emails. I also manage our support staff and manage Virginia Lodge, check when the stationery is running low and re-order items.

 Prophetic word for students -

Our Sunday service starts at 11.00 and typically lasts about 90 minutes.

We begin each service with lively worship, featuring songs from around the world, followed by inspiring, Bible-based teaching. All our sermons are recorded and are available as a podcast after the service.

We have a monthly cycle of Sunday services, with our Communion Service on the first Sunday of each month and an All-Age All-Nation Service on the second. Our other Sunday services include a Lingering (spirit-filled) and Teaching service.

We have consciously adopted being a blended church, that is, both online and face-to-face. You are welcome to join us on Livestream or via Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, or X, or catch up with the recordings later.

On the second Sunday of each month, we have a shorter All-Aged All Nations Service, where the children stay for the worship and the sermon.

After Church

We chat over coffee and biscuits after church on the first, third, fourth and fifth Sundays. If you want to get to know us better, why not join us for Sunday lunch with some of our members?
