Prophetic word for students
Stepping into Prophetic destiny - Dave Food
At Runnymede Christian Fellowship, we sense that this is a season to walk more fully in our prophetic destiny and to take fresh steps of faith together. Scripture tells us that “we live by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7), and yet those words become real only when we are willing to trust God beyond our comfort zones. Prophetic destiny is not a distant dream but the unfolding of God’s purposes for us as individuals and as a church family. Each act of obedience, however small, becomes a stepping stone towards the future He has prepared.

Over recent month,s we have seen glimpses of what happens when people at RCF listen to the Spirit, pray with expectancy and respond with courage. Testimonies of answered prayer, new initiatives and quiet acts of service remind us that the Lord delights in our willingness, not just our capability. Like Abraham, who “went out, not knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8), we are called to journey in trust, confident that God’s promises are sure. People who have stepped into new jobs, applied for visas, and moved into the Egham area to be part of what we are doing as a Church.

This is, therefore, a call to all of us to lean in, listen, and act. Ask God what part He is inviting you to play. It may be a step into a ministry area, a conversation with a neighbour, a deeper commitment to prayer, or simply making yourself available. As we align our steps with His Word and Spirit, RCF becomes not just a gathering but a movement shaped by hope, courage and love. If you sense God stirring something within you, speak with one of the wider leadership team members so we can discern and encourage you together. Our prophetic destiny is not for later; it begins as we walk by faith today.

We want everyone to play their part, serve the King, fulfil their full potential through Christ, empowered by His Holy Spirit.

Prepare for the Tsunami - the quiet revival - Dave Food
Across the United Kingdom and here in Runnymede, a quiet but unmistakable spiritual renewal is taking place – a “silent revival” that does not fit the dramatic images of mass rallies or sweeping public campaigns. Instead, it is happening in small groups, local churches, and everyday conversations. People disillusioned with purely secular answers are re-exploring faith, often in intimate settings such as home gatherings, workplace prayer meetings, or community service projects.

This movement is marked by authenticity rather than spectacle. Many congregations report rising attendance at mid-week Bible studies, Alpha courses, and social action initiatives. Young adults, in particular, are drawn to environments where doubts and questions are welcomed and where worship feels participatory rather than performative. Our heart is to engage in worship at RCF. Social media has amplified this trend, allowing testimonies, teaching, and worship resources to circulate far beyond church walls without the cost of large campaigns.

Another feature of the silent revival is its integration of faith with everyday life. Christians are reclaiming the language of vocation and mission in schools, hospitals, businesses, and neighbourhoods. Rather than withdrawing from public life, they are quietly modelling service, generosity, and moral courage. We are seeing a stirring in hearts, as people recognise their faith making a difference in everyday life.

While statistics on church affiliation in traditional Churches still show long-term decline, these grassroots signs point to a shift below the surface. The silent revival may not yet be headline news, but it reflects a deep hunger for meaning, community, and hope – a movement as steady as it is subtle, shaping the UK’s spiritual landscape from the ground up.

According to “The Quiet Revival” research (YouGov / Bible Society), in 2024, around 5.8 million people (12 % of the population) in England and Wales attended church at least once a month — up from 3.7 million (8 %) in 2018. Religion Media Centre

In the same report, among 18- to 24-year-olds, monthly church attendance increased from 4% in 2018 to 16% in 2024. The proportion of young men rose to 21%, and that of young women to 12%. Tearfund+1

The gift
Meet the Prayer Night crowd - Juliet Najja
Hello everyone, greetings to you.  As the year quickly draws to a close, we thank everyone who has joined us in prayer and share what the Lord has been doing in our midst.  The Lord has been good to us as a body of Christ.  The word of God states that “My house shall be a house of prayer” is a direct quote from the Bible, primarily found in the Old Testament book of Isaiah 56:7 and quoted by Jesus in the New Testament books i.e. Matthew 21:13. This phrase expresses that God’s dwelling, or a believer’s home, should be a place dedicated to prayer and worship. We make church our home for prayer, worship, and other activities.

You cannot be a fruitful Christian without prayer.  At RCF, we create space for us to meet with a view of waiting on God, share and pray scriptures for various individual needs. We also pray for the community, for leaders, and for what is going on around the world, especially that God will have His way through it all.  The Bible also encourages us not to worry but to instead pray and offer our supplications to God with thanksgiving, and that God's peace will guard our hearts, Philippians 4:6-7.

We have witnessed and experienced positive change in the church and within the community, even as we join forces with other local churches in Egham.  Through the prayers that are mainly held at VL, God has led us to a new location at Strodes College, Egham, and more people have joined the church, especially younger people, as VL was not enough.  We have also witnessed testimonies, some of which are recorded on the church testimony page.

When we pray, we expect to hear from God, and we have seen answers to our prayers, as God directs us in how to address some of our prayer needs.  We have had lots of answers to our prayers, which motivates us to keep going.  We also get to bond together as a family of God, which helps us to support each other, friends, family and beyond.

Be encouraged to come and join us to seek the Lord together and be part of what God is doing or wants to be done in these challenging times.  Through prayers we can also find our destinies etc.
We hope and look forward to seeing you at Virginia Lodge.

Past and future events that you may want to take part in - Dave Food
September was a significant month for Runnymede Christian Fellowship as we hosted our conference with Dr Clem Ferris. Over two days (One Day conference and Church in Sunday), our church family and friends gathered to worship, learn and receive fresh insight into God’s purposes for our lives. Dr Ferris brought teaching that was both deeply biblical and prophetically sharp, helping us to see how God shapes individuals and communities for Kingdom impact. Many commented on the atmosphere of faith, openness and expectancy that marked each session. Words of encouragement, practical wisdom and moments of ministry left a lasting impression on those who attended.

If you were unable to join us, or if you want to revisit what you heard, the good news is that the recordings are available here. They capture not only the teaching but also the sense of God’s presence and the stories that emerged from our time together. Listening again can help you reflect, pray and apply the principles shared, keeping the momentum of the conference alive in your daily walk. We encourage you to set aside time to watch or listen and allow the Holy Spirit to speak afresh. The fruit of that weekend can continue to shape our fellowship and your own journey of faith.

You can access all our past sermons here.

Quiet Revival
Play your part, make a difference for the King - Dave Food
At Runnymede Christian Fellowship, we believe church is never a spectator event but a living body in which every person has a unique and valuable role. Paul’s picture of the Church as one body with many members reminds us that each gift, however small it may seem, is vital to the whole (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). In this new season, we are sensing God’s gentle prompting to step up and play our part, not out of duty but out of gratitude and expectation. When we serve one another, we create space for the Holy Spirit to move, for relationships to deepen, and for the Kingdom to be seen in our community.

Some of us may be called to visible roles such as leading worship, teaching children, or welcoming at the door. Others will be drawn to unseen acts of service, intercession, practical help, or encouragement during the week. Both are equally significant in the eyes of the Lord. The key is not the size of the task but the heart with which it is offered. As Peter exhorts, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others” (1 Peter 4:10). As each person brings their time, talents and prayers, our fellowship becomes stronger, more resilient and more radiant.

We invite you to prayerfully consider where God might be nudging you. If you sense a prompting, please speak to a member of the leadership team about how you can get involved. Together we can build a place where faith is nurtured, disciples are formed and the love of Christ is shared with Runnymede and beyond. Your part matters.

There are already places you can volunteer to help in the Church App.

LadiesHalfDay
A community rather than just groups - Dave Food
Over the past month, Runnymede Christian Fellowship has taken an important step forward in the way we communicate and care for one another. In September, we moved from a collection of separate WhatsApp groups to a single WhatsApp Community. This change may seem technical, but at its heart, it is about strengthening our life together as a church family. Previously, separate groups existed for prayer requests, rosters, events, or ministry teams. While useful, it could be confusing to keep track of updates, and some people missed out on information that would have blessed or involved them.

A WhatsApp Community allows us to bring all those strands together under one umbrella while still keeping individual topic channels clear and manageable. Members can join the channels most relevant to them, receive announcements from the leadership in one place and find it easier to share encouragements, needs and opportunities. It also makes onboarding new people simpler: instead of multiple invitations, they receive one link and immediately see how they can connect.

Our hope is that this move will help us embody the principle of Acts 2:42-47 – a church devoted to fellowship, prayer and sharing. We encourage every regular attender to join the Community if you have not already done so. It is a practical tool, but also a way of living out our calling to be one body in Christ while respecting each person’s space. If you need help joining, please speak to a member of the leadership team who will be happy to guide you.

Dave or anyone in the Wider Leadership team would be happy to talk to you about how we help to make this happen at RCF.
